I can’t log into my account. Why?

For existing customers, we have migrated to the new system your account which includes your existing library card number. Unfortunately, for security reasons, we were not able to export your PINs. As such, for the first time you log into the library catalogue your PIN will be the last four numbers of your library card number. You will then be prompted to change this to something else.

I logged into my account on the library catalogue, but I can’t find my previously saved lists. Where are they?

I’m afraid that we are unable to transfer over saved lists from the old library catalogue to the new one. We added this information to our website to make customers aware from mid January 2025 onwards. You can make new lists in the new library catalogue but we are unable to retrieve your previously saved lists from the old system.

Will I still be charged overdue fines in the new system?

Yes. You will be charged 25p per day (if you are an adult) for each book that is overdue. Overdue fines favour for other types of stock. You will see these charged applied to your account while the items are still checked out. In the old system, the charges would only appear on your account when the items were returned.

The new library system allows you to rate books in the library catalogue with a five-star rating system. Once you have rated at least one book, when you log into your account you will see books recommended to you based on your ratings.

Can I pay for my fines on the new library catalogue?

Currently this function is unavailable but will be up and running soon. For the moment you will need to pay any fees or charges in person at one of our libraries.

How do I place a reservation request for an item on the new library catalogue?

Once you have searched for what you want to reserve, you will see a Place Reservation button in the results next to the item you want to reserve. When you click on this button you will see information on the estimated charge for this service and what to expect. Once you click on Reserve this will place the reservation request for you.

Why as the library app stopped working?

The old library app (SirsiDynix BlueCloud Mobile) was provided to us by our old library supplier. The new library app is called LiDA Europe and can be found by searching for ‘LiDA Europe’ on google play and apple store in the usual way.

After 7 April 2025, please do not download the old (purple) library app as it will no longer work.
